šŸ”„Consistency in Networking | ATL Networking Events 10/13/2025

šŸ—“ļø Metro Atlanta Events & Business Tips

Another pumpkin smelling week of events. Or it might just be for me…

I did buy everything pumpkin spice fragrance for car, home, candles, etc. I have a problem…

Hey! Andres here,

Welcome to the networking desk! You know how this goes by now, I share insights, things going on and more.

The title? Yeah, honestly I consistently need to hit the bed early, can’t be writing this stuff after midnight lol. But hey I love doing it so let’s get to it.

🌟 Don’t forget to share your networking wins (or business wins and tips) to be featured next time!

Here’s what we got this week:

  • Lean forward moment

  • A few interesting events from the community

  • Spotlight on Spectrum

Alright, let’s do this.

ā€œLean forward momentā€ of the week - šŸ”„Consistency in Networking

Consistency is a word that I have been thinking about a lot lately.

Why does it work so well on businesses?

This year marks my 3rd year in PowerCore, a close networking association where we show up every week and meet, to make connections and referrals.

One of the ā€œrulesā€ is to be present every week or get someone to be there for you, but it is also recommended to miss as few meetings as possible.

At first, I thought this was kind of strict.

ā€œWhy can’t I just take a break?ā€

And although you technically can, Wendy, the owner, told me why it is so important.

The word is consistency, when you show up it is only a matter of time before you start getting introductions, and connections, and as a result… referrals.

You can not get business if you are not there.

Which ties directly into the marketing topic of follow through:

It takes at least 5 touches for a person to do business (there is not such thing as a purchase on first touch, if they do, it is because you are their 5+ touch within that topic not because you are wonderful at sales, their decision was already made)

People normally stop at outreach #3, and if they do, they often don’t do more than 5, but sales tend to happen at 5, 7, and the 11th touch.

So, how can we expect to get anything back from going to an event once?

This is why I am always a big advocate of connecting meaningfully to 3–5 people and then aim to grab coffee and follow through, not all 5 might reply… people are busy, but you keep reaching out and connecting, that’s how businesses are made, and how a referral based business grows.
