🗣️ Delegation vs Responsibility | ATL Networking Events 06/16/2025
🗓️ Metro Atlanta Events & Business Tips

I’ve been delegated (by myself) to provide you with great events this week!
Hey! Andres here,
Welcome to the networking desk! This week I bring new events, and the topic of delegation that has been on my mind this past week.
Here’s what we got this week:
Delegation vs Responsibility

A really nice coffee shop
Alright, let’s do this.

“Lean forward moment” of the week - 🗣️ Delegate Work, Keep Responsibility
If you have followed this newsletter for the past few weeks, you know my current focus is improving how my team works.
I realized I've been inserting myself into every detail of our web projects.
A session with my therapist handed me a game changing insight:
“You can delegate work, not responsibility.”
This helped me understand that effective delegation isn’t about stepping back from my passion or goals and letting others do everything, but about becoming a more intentional leader who lives by our mission and vision.
Now, I’ve noticed that when the team doesn’t feel responsible or personally invested in our brand, the project quality declines, and I end up needing to make numerous corrections myself.
I am committed to becoming more proactive in involving my team deeply in our projects, ensuring they feel ownership and passion similar to mine.
To address this, I’m scheduling more frequent and purposeful meetings, with the goal to understand each team member’s personal and professional goals and aligning them with the company’s vision. By doing so, I want them to feel genuinely invested in creating websites, crafting content, designing visuals, and more.
My hope is for these strategies to improve project quality and client satisfaction. A major challenge remains making my team care as deeply as I do, but by becoming a better leader, I'm optimistic we can overcome this together.
After all, my secret sauce is that I have always aimed to hire people who I would trust and be friends with. Keeping in mind if they’d like each other too, although my team is virtual, it is fun to see glimpses of them doing great work together! (when brainstorming for projects, for example)
Takeaways I will be applying which you might find useful too:
Hold frequent, goal-alignment meetings to foster accountability: I was suggested to have at least one per month with each employee, to understand their goals, and relate them to the organization.
Clearly communicate that delegation does not equal detachment.
Recognize and positively reinforce desired behaviors quickly.
Continually seek feedback and reflect on leadership strategies with mentors or therapists to identify gaps.
Choose one action this week and observe the impact on your team dynamics.

Local shop of the week - Phoenix Roasters — The Roastery
Not an ad – just a cool spot you can visit
Ok, let me say this, I do not enjoy coffee, but I don’t know what they do here. It’s actually pretty good, lol.
I got to try a few different cold brews, and they were amazing, not to mention how nice they were, I was a bit disappointed that they didn’t have my usual go-to (matcha) but wow, the Raspberry Lemonade brew was insane. The service was great too, they saw that I was a bit overwhelmed and let me tried a few different ones.
Just give them a shot!
