🚩Main Goal of Networking | ATL Networking Events 04/07/2025

šŸ—“ļø Metro Atlanta Events & Business Tips

What is the point to all this?! Networking I mean :)

Hey! Andres here,

Welcome to the networking desk! After last week’s hiccup on the newsletter not saving and me doing 30 backups to this one… We are ready for another week of events.

You know the drill, every week I compile events so you can plan ahead and be ready to meet interesting local people and grow your business.

If you don’t know the drill, welcome!

Here’s what we got this week:

  • Main Goal of Networking

  • Local business events in the community

Alright, let’s do this.

ā€œLean forward momentā€ of the week - 🚩 Main Goal of Networking

I think we all have a different goal while networking.

Maybe is leads? Partnerships? Referrals?

The number one reason I enjoy networking is asking business questions.

Think about it.

There are masterminds that cost thousands of dollars by just the fact that they bring business owners together to share their current struggles and approaches to solving business problems, and solve for growth.

Well, guess what else brings business owners together? Yep, networking events, when I ask someone for coffee, I will be as open as possible about my current business situation, remember you are never selling to these people…

When you sell to them, at best they don’t buy from you and at worst you offend them, and they never reach back out again.

You want meaningful relationships and connections, you get leads and partners by being open and willing to give.

The first thing we need to give is trust.

I trust them with what’s currently happening in my business, I ask for their input, sometimes they were having this same problem and are willing to share what they did to solve it, this information is more valuable than any business I can get for them.

This creates a win-win situation because we now open up to each other, and we have created trust, and trust creates referrals. Even if this doesn’t create a trusting relationship, then you still come out ahead with new actionable information.

I will share what is top of mind today for me, and how a recent conversation went, as it could be your situation as well.

Recently, I noticed that not everyone on my team was performing up to standard. I started blaming them and keeping my distance, thinking ā€œI just need better peopleā€

But during a conversation with a business owner, they asked me how did I train them? Did I have them sit with someone previously on their position…?

ā€œWell, no.ā€ I said. ā€œThat used to be me, in that position, and I never took the time, I just gave instructionsā€ ā€”ā€so how do you expect them to meet the goals if there is no clear plan to a ā€œjob well doneā€?ā€ they said, smiling.

This moment opened my eyes, yes, it is time-consuming to train someone, but that initial time pays off in the future when they are actually achieving the work you are set out to do in this world.

Hopefully this helps someone, and if you ever want someone to talk to about business, feel free to reach out!

Have a great week / weekend!
