Alright, let’s dive in.

“Lean forward moment” of the week - 🔔 Make Your Signup Forms More Effective
Ever wonder why some forms only ask for your email? Don’t they want to at least know your name?
Well, yes and no. I recently learned that every field you add to a form decreases the chance of the user hitting the submit button.
Take for example: this research show that not only does the amount of fields impacts the decision but also what the type of field it is or what it asks for.
Every field may create friction for the user, so having a simple form that only asks for email allows you to maximize conversions and allows you to communicate with that person.
This was recently tested by the team at beehiiv (which had a presentation on optimizing conversions last week) they found out that 1 field was what had worked best for them. Feel free to apply to your lead magnets on your website and see what happens.
Pro tip: If you need more information like their name or any other data, you can always create an automatic email with a survey after the signup and have name be a field.
🗓️ Now, the events…
