šŸ¤ Networking Tip Compilation | ATL Networking Events 01/23/2025

šŸ—“ļø Metro Atlanta Events & Business Tips

Hope you are staying warm! Let’s queue in another week of networking events.

Hey! Andres here…?

Kind of here. With all this snow and craziness going on, I barely noticed the week was gone, haha.

I mean, two snow storms in a row!? NOO… My networking! 😭

Just kidding, hope you all stayed warm and safe.

Looking forward to seeing you around at networking events.

Here’s what we got this week:

  • Tips I have collected over months of networking

  • Next week events

Alright, let’s get to it.

ā€œLean forward momentā€ of the week - šŸ¤ My networking tips

I want to start this list right away and talk about how frustrating it is to coordinate meetings for coffees. No wonder why so many people get scheduling assistants…

Here’s what I have found must useful.

  1. Having a free scheduling software that is connected to your calendar, and you use ONLY for coffee / business meetings.

For example. I use Hubspot’s scheduling and only have Wednesdays available, as that is the best day for me to meet with for casual coffees. I keep my schedule open for client meetings and work.

Why Wednesday? No one schedules on that day for some reason, so 1 people don’t have anything going on. And 2, clients (at least my clients) usually avoid Wednesdays for meeting, making it work perfectly.

Just look at your past few months and see where clients stack the list to make that your relationship building day.

Here’s a list of pieces of software you can use: Calendly, Hubspot, Cal.com, and Neetocal.

  1. BAFAM, but for coffee. (BAFAM stands for Book A Meeting From A Meeting) Nothing beats good old in person scheduling.

This is faster and avoids email back and forward. If you combine this with the calendar previously mentioned, you can quickly add their email, name, and it will automatically send them a confirmation to their email.

  1. Share a list (or ask for a list) of participants.

This one is nice if you are the one running the event. People really appreciate an organized list of emails, so that they can communicate with the attendants after the meeting, specially if someone forgot their business cards *cough, cough … me this week.

PLEASE, DO NOT use this email list to add people to your newsletter or marketing emails.

I have seen this done so many times and trust me people will block you, I have missed emails from people because now their email is ā€œsuddenlyā€ marked as spam, after so many people marked it as such, because of all the unwanted mail. Do not be this person. This is not easy to fix.
