🗓️ Metro Atlanta Events & Business Tips

Slow week for events… FREEDOM WEEK! 🇺🇸

Welcome to the networking desk, where I share networking events going on in Atlanta (and metro area) tips on how to get the most out of them and more. This week…

“Lean forward moment” of the week - Not all advice is good advice 📝

What a great quote. I often refer to this idea when people ask me what the best advice I follow.

This is why we shouldn’t ask certain family members or friends for advice. They may be great people, and we can love them dearly. However, many of the things we want in life are things they’ve never experienced or achieved.

For example, a friend of mine wanted to buy a car. He had saved enough money to pay for a decent car upfront. However, his family and friends recommended that he get a new car and finance it instead. He followed their advice, but later told me it was the worst decision he ever made. The financial strain and interest payments were far more of a burden than he expected.

Never ask people for directions to a place they’ve never been.
