📣Only Bad Leads? | ATL Networking Events 08/18/202

🗓️ Metro Atlanta Events & Business Tips

Can you hear that? It’s the sound of a new week full of events!

Hey! Andres here,

Welcome to the networking desk! This week I bring up a topic some of my clients have mentioned before, which is: There are no good lead sources… or all leads are bad

🌟 AS ALWAYS: Don’t forget to share your networking wins (or business wins and tips) to be featured next time!

Here’s what we got this week:

  • 📣Only Bad Leads?

  • Local events list just for you!

Alright, let’s do this.

“Lean forward moment” of the week - 📣Only Bad Leads?

Lately I keep hearing, ‘there are no good leads,’ ‘that channel does not work.’ and other forms of saying that the source of leads they use is not effective.

This could not be further from the truth.

Most of the time it is not the platform, it is how we use it.

  • volume [not enough at‑bats],

  • process [no clear next step],

  • speed [slow replies lose hot intent].

I actually did an experiment and tried to help a few clients with the sales process. They had told me that their way to get leads (calls, Google Ads, and platforms like Thumbtack) were not working as they were all bad leads.

So I did a few for them in the past few weeks. I actually closed a good amount. All I did was make an offer, suggest discounts (that my clients already had) and follow up like a real human being.

Notice, for example, a message I sent for one of my clients:

Hi! Just noticed that you are also in Gwinnett County and looking for ______ services, my name is Andres with _______ and was wondering if you were able to book with someone yet, we are flexible this week, and could get you schedule this week if you want someone to [Service to perform] :) let me know if I can help.
If you are also looking have this be a recurring service, we have a kickoff discount for new monthly customers (20% off any service you pick - on average this saves arount $100). Talk soon!

P.S - The attached estimate, and does not include discounts. I just put it there as it is required, if you give me a bit more information about your needs I can give you a more accurate quote. Thank you!

Yes, they did close that same day!

Sounding like yourself is important, and even more, being willing to help.

Also after this experiment, I left my clients with a task: now that you know that is possible, learn what I did and repeat, improve even. Obviously this is not a 100% close rate, but if I closed 3 out of 10 leads, you can work backwards to hit your goal. For example, if you want 30 new clients a month, you’ll need around 100 leads. Once you know your numbers, the cost matters less, the math tells you what’s worth spending.

What to take away from this. In this era of AI everything, be a real person, AI is taking away from conversations when it really should improve them, allow us more time to be human and create meaningful connections.

And speaking of meaningful connections, let’s jump into the local events! See you around.
