šŸ“ØVoicemail Money | ATL Networking Events 06/30/2025

šŸ—“ļø Metro Atlanta Events & Business Tips

Last week of June, and a long weekend approaching! Let’s get into a few networking events:

Hey! Andres here,

Welcome to the networking desk! Hope you had an excellent week networking, and growing your business. As we get ready for the 4th and people travelling, there are fewer events, but I got you!

Here’s what we got this week:

  • Missing money on voicemails?

  • Local networking events!

Alright, let’s do this.

ā€œLean forward momentā€ of the week - šŸ“ØMissing Money in Voicemail

ā€œHey this is ____ can’t pick up right now leave your name and number thanksā€

ā€œ678——… is not available at the toneā€¦ā€

Or worse

ā€œthis inbox is fullā€

Have we been using voicemail messages wrong this entire time!?!

Listen, I’ve never put any thought into the voicemail message, heck, I don’t even remember what mine is… but, a recent voicemail I heard changed the perspective I have on it now.

Voicemails can actually be used to generate business or engage with people calling.

I met a person after a networking event, and I was calling to coordinate a coffee meeting, I was greeted with a similar message to this "Hey! This is _____ with [business name]. I am with a customer right now, but if you can leave your name and number, I will personally call you back within 15 minutes during business hours. And because of your wait, I'll give you a free _____ (insert business offer) just for reaching out. Leave your message, and thank you for your patienceā€

Now, that makes money.

Imagine you are a prospect, if you hear the normal ones you go ok ill just call the next person someone who will actually pick up, but with this one you are now invested and know that someone is giving you a call soon.

If you plan to do this, make sure to include these 3 sections:

  1. Name a specific person calling back (accountability) - if it’s not going to be you

  2. specific time for reach back call (remove uncertainty)

  3. Include an offer for their inconvenience

I also started recommending this for non-profits, as many of them that are my clients either don’t have one setup or are always busy, and they are hard to reach.

Yes, although non-profits don’t really ā€œsellā€ they can use something like the following:

"Hi, you've reached Youth Shelter Network. We're out helping kids right now, but Maria will personally call you within one business hour. Please leave your name, and phone number, and we'll also share some information exactly how your call today is making a difference in young people's lives. Thank you for caring, and talk to you soon!ā€

This would be more about them feeling connected to the cause. AND you could also invite them personally to an upcoming event or open house, ensuring their involvement feels valued and immediate.

Very similar structure to the business voicemail:

  1. Accountability - Naming a specific team member creates trust.

  2. Clear Timing - Provides certainty about when they'll hear back.

  3. Immediate Value - Offers clear, meaningful insight about their impact on the mission (even if short), encouraging deeper engagement.

Hope this helps and let’s start changing these!

Hey! In case you didn’t know, I make websites and help non-profits to stay top of mind to create more revenue.

I'm currently helping two more non-profits secure Google's free $10k Ad Grant to increase revenue and reach. If you know a non-profit that could benefit (and would provide a testimonial), I'd love to chat.. Use the website or respond to this email.
