When to Stop a Marketing Strategy 🛑 | Atlanta Networking Events 10/14/2024

🗓️ Metro Atlanta Events & Business Tips

Welcome to another exiting week of networking! We got a lot of things to go over, so let’s start:

Hey! Andres here,

Welcome to the networking desk! Seems like a lot of people are out there networking (and yes that makes me exited) we are all trying to take advantage of the last warm days before we bring out the layers.

It was great to see a lot of you out there this week, and this week I actually have a few things to mention on marketing and consistency which you don’t want to miss :)

Here’s what we got this week:

  • Lean forward moment (When to stop a marketing strategy) 🛑

  • Curated events in the community 🗓️

  • Nice coffee shop with chill vibes 🍵

Alright, let’s do this.

“Lean forward moment” of the week - When should you quit a marketing strategy? 🛑

I heard this question during an AMA session with Allan Dib author of The 1-Page Marketing Plan. So I wanted to expand on his response here.

Deciding to quit or keep at a marketing strategy can be a difficult task.

We often see new methods for lead generation and think: “do I move to cold calling? I heard is doing pretty good now that people are targeting emails or ads instead” or “I heard SEO is important, maybe I need to start writing blogs” while it seems like the thing you are doing is not generating enough

The reality is that you should NOT quit.

It’s really that simple. Jumping from method to method breaks consistency, and consistency + volume is the real generator of success and lead generation.

Here’s how to think about working on your marketing tactic:

More → Better | New

When more of the same tactic doesn’t generate significant results, then we do better. Ask yourself how can you improve on this specific tactic, can you hire more people to do more of it? Can you increase the amount of hours you spend doing it?

Only when better and more do not move the needle too much AND you have this process completely automatized (you do not need to be involved) you do not move to something new. Consistency always beats trying new things.

My current rules for marketing in my business are: I am going to stick to the one thing that works, and do 100 of that thing every day, then do more or better until I have a team doing this for me.

Ex. I spend 100 minutes of content creation every day, as I get better I create guides and hire someone to help me do more, eventually more does not move the needle, so I do better content. I continue the cycle until the team is handling and improving on the concept alone.

Do this same thing for your strategy. 100 cold calls a day, 100 cold emails a day, 100 minutes of networking a day… that consistency will generate leads no matter what.

Local shop of the week - Cafe Rothem 카페 로뎀

Not an ad – just a cool spot you can visit

Last week I had the opportunity to coffee at Cafe Rothem. What I enjoyed the most there was how cozy this place is. I always find comfort when surrounded by books and piano songs! They have one of those that pay itself, so that was neat.
