“Lean forward moment” of the week - Where business anxiety comes from 😬 

This is a lesson a learned about 2 weeks ago, and now apply preparation to every meeting I have.

We can often show insecurity and lose sales just by not being prepared for a sales call, and even coffees with potential partners or other business owners.

It truly changes a meeting when I prepare. Just 15 minutes reading about a person or doing some extra research on the project to be discussed makes a HUGE impact.

Take, for example, just the other day, I took 10 minutes before a meeting to research a business owner I was having coffee with. That meeting was completely different from what I usually run into, I mentioned that I saw he was into swimming, and we immediately connected. He went deeper into things he was passionate about, and it was like hanging out with a friend

The outcome? I found that one of my clients would benefit from his services, and they are now working together AND we will be looking into his website in the near future win-win-win — got to love those…

If you are looking to take action on applying this to your life, here's what you can do:

• Set aside time before every meeting and read upon the person. Even 15 minutes makes a huge difference.

• Practice as often as you can. If you're going to networking events (And I know you are because you read this) ask people for coffee even if you don’t think they would ever refer or even if they don’t have your same clients. Practice makes perfect.

• Think about what might go wrong and how you'll handle it. This way, you won't be surprised. I used to create schemas of where negotiations would go using the book “Never Split the Difference” (great book btw) to practice before meeting with a client.

EXTRA FIND - Secret Codes to Find Movies on Netflix

I honestly can never find anything on Netflix. The algorithm on my account is always confused, probably because my girlfriend also uses the account, so makes it go crazy lol.

Anyway, I found this incredible post from the Learn Something account that lists ‘Netflix Secret codes’ to help you navigate to dozens of categories of movies you otherwise would never see:

To search Netflix’s hidden categories, simply replace the XXX with the subgenres’ corresponding numerical code at the end of this URL:
