šŸ—“ļø Metro Atlanta Events & Business Tips

Welcome, September! Time to share warm coffees with pumpkin favor šŸ:

Hey! Andres here,

Welcome to the networking desk! As always, I searched the internet to find interesting events for us to participate in, network and share ideas.

This newsletter is #70, also #70 in a row, I have not stopped a single week. I have learned a lot along the way, I look forward to keep sharing more information with this growing community in the future.

beehiiv shows me streaks like this lol, kind of cool.

🌟 Don’t forget to share your networking wins (or business wins and tips) to be featured next time!

Here’s what we got this week:

  • Why video wins

  • Local events

Alright, let’s do this.

Do You Remember September GIF by Earth, Wind & Fire

ā€œLean forward momentā€ of the week - šŸŽ„ Why Video Wins

Do you want to know which was the best performing ad I’ve ever run?

Let me give you a hint. Although the title is a bit of a spoiler šŸ˜…

It was not the one I spent hours designing. Not the one with fancy copy or perfect targeting I thought I had. It was… wait for it… a random video of a fountain with some text slapped on top.

That’s it.

No big idea. No ā€œcreative genius.ā€ Just water flowing in the background and words about this newsletter.

And it outperformed every other ad I made.

Why? Because it was a video.

That simple.

Short-form video has become the way to reach people where they actually spend their time. Stats back it up: 78% of marketers use video now, and over half of people who watch business, and nonprofit videos go on to donate or at least click on the ad.

Let me repeat that: MORE THAN HALF.

Show up on video, and your chances of getting donations double.

Now, here’s my favorite part:

The video doesn’t need to be complicated.

Basically, if you can make a PowerPoint, you can make a video ad.
If you can post a photo, you can post a video.

Here’s a Canva link with tons of video templates you can plug and play: Canva Video Templates.

It takes longer to scroll for a movie on Netflix than to make one of these, lol.

Let me show you:

I threw one together in under 5 minutes. Just a moving background, random text, and boom. Instant ad.

See? That took me literally less than 5 minutes.

So here’s how you try it:

Stop overthinking it.

Make a quick video today promoting your next event, business promotion, donor campaign, or program.

Let it run.

If it flops, who cares? Make another one. The important thing here is to test and improve. Ads will only perform well when tested against each other until you find a clear winner, and even then you keep testing.

If it works, congrats! You just found the cheapest, easiest way to get in front of your people.

Remember: your next supporter is scrolling right now.

Talk later!

šŸ’» New Video!

Hey! A couple of weeks ago, I talked about how to make landing pages following a formula. I also made this video (for non-profits) where I explain each section in detail.

Local shop of the week - Wise Coffee

Not an ad – just a cool spot you can visit

I find myself coming back to this place a lot, not only do they have great coffee, but they are also so nice. Top-notch service, I work here all the time. I am also biased because they play Lofi music which is what I already listen to while working so makes it so much better!
